Since 2003, Perspectives has conducted workshops and training courses on CDM for governmental representatives and the private sector. Each capacity-building activity is tailored to the special needs of the target group and will always provide our combined knowledge, the latest relevant market information and what it means for you. The head of our CDM Capacity Building team is Dr. Axel Michaelowa, who started his first CDM capacity building activities in 2000 for his former employer, the Hamburg Institute for International Economics. Axel Michaelowa is a widely-recognized expert in this important field. His experience shows that capacity building activities are often the foundation for flourishing CDM project development in the private sector.
Typical elements of CDM Capacity Programmes include:
- Introduction to the UNFCCC process and the Kyoto based mechanisms
- Overview of the CDM-rules and procedures
- Current status of the CDM: methodology development, project development, requirements on of project owners and validators (DOEs)
- Elements of successful PDD-development: additionality analysis, baseline calculation, principles of the UNFCCC and the CDM Executive Board
