Head of Business Unit Methodology Development
MPA Daisuke Hayashi
Daisuke Hayashi holds MPA in environmental policy and BS in environmental engineering. He has been actively working in the climate change field since 2002. Before joining Perspectives' first in July 2007, he worked for the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI) as a research fellow on international climate policy, with a focus on CDM and post 2012 issues. Combining scientific knowledge in environmental policy and engineering with hands-on experience in CDM/JI project development, he leads Perspectives' business in CDM/JI methodology development and makes significant contributions to our cutting-edge climate policy advisory.
His major achievements include the first CDM benchmarking methodology for supercritical coal-fired power generation (ACM0013), a pioneering CDM program of activities for nation-wide distribution of efficient light bulbs in India (Bachat Lamp Yojana), and a CDM benchmarking methodology for whole-building efficiency improvement developed for the Masdar City, the world's first carbon neutral city in the United Arab Emirates. In addition, he has contributed to multiple reports underlining CDM rules and possible reforms, required in the post 2012 regime, and provided crucial contributions to assessment of future market mechanisms.
