Kaja Weldner holds a M.Sc. in Environmental Governance from the University of Freiburg and completed her B.A. in Applied Political Science at the University of Freiburg and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Aix-en-Provence. During her studies, she focused on climate and environmental policies in the context of the EU and international cooperation and supported municipal organizations in climate and sustainability-related processes as a policy and research assistant. Her previous work relates to the governance and the role of civil society actors for climate finance in Morocco and the MENA region, as well as the concept of circular economy as a policy strategy for food waste. As Junior Consultant at Perspectives, Kaja supports projects related to the UNFCCC climate negotiations and international carbon market mechanisms with a focus on francophone countries and the MENA region. She also works on climate policy instruments and mitigation strategies in urban and national contexts.
