Ruth Kassaye is working as research analyst at Perspectives Climate Research. She assists project work and proposal development with a focus on climate finance and clean development mechanism. Ruth completed a M.Sc. in Environmental Governance at the University of Freiburg, Germany, with a scholarship by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Ruth also holds a B.A. degree in Development and Environmental Management Studies from Gondar University, and a M.Sc. in Food Security, at Addis Ababa University, both in her home country Ethiopia. Before joining Perspectives, Ruth worked in the office of the Social Development Policy Division United Nation Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), responsible for undertaking research and contributing to reports, and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) Ethiopia, where she worked in the Sustainable Land Management Programme (SLMP) from 2014 to 2015, first as an intern, then as a consultant and finally as an employee. She was responsible for updating standardized data collection format, data analysis and reporting as part of capacity development support to the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture.
