Hanna-Mari holds a M.Sc. in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics. She has worked with international climate policy and carbon markets since 2002 and participated in international climate negotiations since 2006. She is a regular speaker at universities and events. Her extensive policy and project-level expertise covers both international carbon pricing and adaptation and climate resilience. Through her work with governments, the private sector, international financial institutions, academia and UN climate negotiations and processes, she has gained diverse insights into the theoretical, political, financial, technical and practical aspects of climate action, including in the broader context of sustainable development. At the UN climate negotiations, she has represented the EU, Finland and Sweden as well as the business community, as an expert on carbon markets and cooperative approaches and, more recently, also on adaptation and the Warsaw international mechanism on loss and damage.
